How they both are helpful to us ?
Whenever we heard about Tomatoes , it is something that we use in almost every veggies that we eat.
But Are we using it for just boosting up the flavors of our dishes ?
OR
Is there something else for which we eat it?
Tomatoes are always been a great source of several nutrients like Ascorbic acid,proteins,carbohydrates,fibres etc.
Among all these vital composition ,one of the vital molecule for which tomatoes are widely used is an Antioxidant called Lycopene.
Actually Antioxidant is one of the major vital molecule that our body needs to remain unaffected from any cardiovascular diseases.
Lycopene is an antioxidant and tomatoes are one of the major source of it.This antioxidant prevents us from several heart diseases and Cancers like Prostrate Cancer and Breast Cancer.
But what about Chocolates?
Does it contain something unknown to many of us?
Most of us are eating chocolates and it is something that's really delicious. In the market there are wide range of chocolates,differ in their colors ,flavors ,taste ,texture ,shape ,fragrance ,state etc.
And all these things are so alluring that they really attract consumers, not only Kids but adults too!
Do we ever eat chocolates to remain healthy?
The simple answer is definitely not. We eat it because we like to it. Infact instead of looking benefits of eating chocolates, we are more concerned about our teeth because we know that it might decay our teeth if we eat a lot and the same thing we tell our kids too.
So how you will react , if you get to know that eating chocolates is really a healthy thing !
Moreover if one says that you will get more antioxidant as compared to what one gets from TOMATOES !
Ya, it seems to be quite unbelievable fact ! but it's true.
According to the Book of ORGANIC CHEMISTRY by PAULA YURKANIS BRUICE's 7th Edition
( pg no.- 582) it is written there that we have a very strong and effective antioxidant called Catechins.
So what's a big deal among these two antioxidants ?
Does Catechins are more effective than Lycopene ?
So the answer is YES, and not only this , infact there's a very good news for chocolate lovers and that is-
On a weight basis the level of antioxidant in chocolates are greater than that in Red Wine, Green Tea and the amazing thing is 20 TIMES GREATER THAN THE LEVEL OF ANTIOXIDANT FOUND IN TOMATOES.
Another good news is that THE LEVEL OF ANTIOXIDANT FOUND IN DARK CHOCOLATES IS TWICE THAN THAT IN MILK CHOCOLATES.
The only thing that needs to be taken in care that unfortunately there's no antioxidant in white chocolates.
Apart from being healthy in terms of antioxidant's level, one another piece of good news is that THE STEARIC ACID (main fatty acid found in chocolates).
Now how this Stearic acid is better than other fatty acids ?
So the thing is that unlike other fatty acids which generally raise the blood cholesterol level, the stearic acid does't behave like this.
